On Jan 07th, ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX) held a meeting to unite stronger front competing against China and India--ETM Volum 2 #32. Although around 85% of raw material import tax is eliminated with ASEAN countries, the remaining 15 is a big burden to manufacturers which assuming will remain till 2012.
"We've to target markets nearby because we're saving on transportation costs" H.E. Cham Prasidh, Cambodia Minister of Commerce said. "Markets in Japan, Australia and Korea are better than markets that are over 10,000 km away."--ETM
